When most of the abortions occur in non-traditional, broken families and among the poor in society? These people would have grown up and voted Democrat.

Are they destroying their future base?

"armchair quarterbacks who could care less about her" ... You mean, like her Parents? Didn't you liberals vote against parental notification? Weird.

lol, listen to this one: " They're helping their base and their base's posterity" Their base's posterity? Aren't those the fetuses they are destroying?

A Catholic, eh? Obviously not a practicing one. Isn't it important to anyone anymore to embrace ALL of the tenets and beliefs of their faith? Why don't you ask the Pope about his stance on abortion...

"Is it not unethical for Government to tell a Woman she has no control of her body?" Well, I hate to point out the obvious, but if she has an unwanted pregnancy (barring rape, which I think there should be abortion for) then doesn't that prove that she has no control over her body? I mean, if you don't want to get pregnant, you NEVER have to.....

It's silly for anyone to be pro-abortion. Abortion is murder, and the woman can always have the baby and put he or she up for adoption.

Maybe liberals are more principled than someone who takes a stand just so they have 'more' voters.

Actually, I don't think you are right about who gets abortions. And, when I was a telephone employee assistance counselor, I gave many many referrals for counseling to 'good christian families' seeking abortions so their pregnant daughters would not embarrass them.

Lastly, I know few people are are pro-abortion. Most people in this country favor a woman controlling her own reproduction. They favor allowing women who want to to choose abortions without reservation in the first trimester.

A better question might be to ask why democrats advocate those things that would make it more likely that a woman would keep her baby - universal health care, social security credits for stay home moms, welfare, unemployment comp, etc whereas republicans advocate those very things that make it more likely a person would feel pressured to abort.

It's more than silly. It sounds like a big political con job.

First of all, I'm a liberal and I'm not pro-abortion... I'm against this government dictating what a woman has the right to do when it comes to her body and her health. I think you'll find most people are not so much "pro-abortion" as they're against the government banning abortion.

Secondly, let's forget how blatantly ignorant your comment is about abortions occurring in non-traditional and broken families among the poor in society and just debunk the idea entirely. Did you know that over 67% of abortions are performed on Caucasian teens from middle-to-upper income families? This leads me to believe that a lot of these so called "upright Christian mothers" you see screaming hate and intolerance at pregnant teenagers in front of abortion clinics and planned parenthood locations are really just hypocrites who would sooner take their own teenaged daughter in for an abortion than bear the shame of having a daughter who conceived out of wedlock. So your theory is nothing more than conservative propaganda aimed at poor and ethnic people.
Also, Democrats aren't generally from poor and broken, non-traditional families. I'm a Democrat and I grew up in a middle-class home. Not only were both my parents around... they're still married after over 40 years of marriage. They took me to church every week, read the Bible and prayed with me and raised me to be a respectable person and not a cheap-shot artist touting my own self-righteousness while hurling stones at others.

You are a close-minded ill-informed person who just says hateful things in order to make you feel better about yourself. You are everything I officially cannot stand about the right. You have no valid argument so you attack minorities and poor people for having no morals. Really tasteful!

And here I thought Republicans were supposed to be "the God party." Do you really think God is pleased by a judgmental heart and a vindictive tongue? I think I remember a few Bible verses saying He in fact wasn't impressed by such things. Hmm... maybe my liberal parents just made it up!

Fox ran the results of a poll of the reasons for on demand abortion. Number one is inconvenience. I oft wonder of those over 44 million lives taken how many may have been the one that found a cure for cancer or invented something that would have benefited mankind. When does the baby get a say so. When a woman becomes pregnant it is no longer her body, it is their body. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Do you think there are women that aborted many years ago that now could use the help of their child as they grow older.

Is it not unethical for Government to tell a Woman she has no control of her body?

Should not the Woman decide if she is able to carry a pregnancy to term in the first 3 months?

If a Womans health is in danger in the second trimester, should not She and not the government decide if an abortion is a viable option?

The same Republicans who call themselves "PRO-LIFE"
vote for Republican politicians that cut funding for Sex Education, Head Start, Day Care, Public Education, and Medicaid for poor children while at the same time fund the bombing of women, pregnant women and children in Afghanistan and Iraq.
HYPOCRITES!

This is like gun control issue. People say law abiding citizens shouldn't lose right to own guns.

There are people who really need abortion procedure for life/death reasons. There are people who are responsible and use abortion responsibly. Why should all lose right to abortion because of few bad apples.

Would you let few bad apples take away gun rights?

Abortion do not take place in huge scale. Not enough to make that kind of impact. Certainly not just democrats.

No, it is not silly. Abortion rights are part of the Democratic Platform, along with high taxes. Tax the dolts that are alive to high heaven so they can fund all the programs they have to help the very ones that are having abortions. It makes sense doesn't it?

No. They're not. They're helping their base and their base's posterity, who will have a much greater ability to make something of themselves.

Also, if democrats wanted abortion to be legal simply because they wanted as many democrats around as possible, i would immediately leave the party.

And, I think that statement's wrong in the first place.

Is it silly for people such as yourself to think that those who are pro-choice are a) all liberal and b) pro-abortion? Why, yes, yest it is! I am a conservative, a Catholic and pro-choice. I am NOT pro-abortion.

We're pro-choice. We believe in the woman making that difficult decision rather than the armchair quarterback politicians and lobbyists who could care less about her.
