Get yourself into some acting classes and workshops and as many theatre prodctions as you can. Gain experience so you can start building a resume.
If you want to find a legitimate agent to represent you for commercials, TV & film go to Sag.org. Use the dropdown menu on the right labeled 'resources' and choose 'agent information'. On the next screen, on the left choose 'Find a SAG franchised agent' and follow the directions. You can look up agents all over the US, but there are higher concentrations where the work is (Los Angeles, NY, IL, FL, GA etc.)
Then you can send them your headshot, resume, and a cover letter stating that you are seeking representation and wait to see if they call you in for an interview.
Once you have an agent, they will get you the auditions, but until then you can check out actorsaccess.com. You can also see if your state has a film alliance. Sometimes they post audition information for projects filming locally. For theatre, you can go to backstage.com or http://www.actorsequity.org/castingcall/... If you find the audition on the Equity site, you still may be able to go, as long as their not taking appointments from equity actor's only :-) On backstage.com you have to pay to get all of the info, but the initial search is free and you may be able to see enough info to find out the rest on your own without paying.
Good luck!

in case you pick money right now, appearing isn't the thank you to head. have confidence me. I certainly have a level in theatre overall performance from a properly everyday college, and so do maximum human beings I audition against. Even on suitable of that, you could not purely commence appearing and make money at it top away. the those which you spot in movies that are "widespread" and making the super money began out out in community theatre (unpaid), college theatre (additionally unpaid), and pupil or small movies (each so often paid, or perhaps then little or no money). appearing professionally is a job. you could not purely walk into an interview for a job as an accountant devoid of any journey in accounting and assume to get a job making buckets of money. appearing is the comparable way, purely a lot extra aggressive. in case you're fairly severe approximately appearing, forget approximately making it massive and merely concentration on your craft. learn appearing merely such as you will learn the rest. Get journey, strengthen, and at last you will start to land roles. in case you purely might desire to make some rapid money, I recommend getting a job working area time in foodstuff-service or retail. there are particular regulations on the varieties of jobs you could artwork because of the fact of your age, and you will't artwork finished time or at particular hours, yet you may desire to have the potential to locate something which will pay a minimum of minimum salary ($7.25 an hour if I undergo in techniques wisely.)

almost all schools have a school play. i highly recommend joining it. if your school doesnt have a play, there is probably an acting school or academy that you can join. these will cost money, but you get what you pay for.
Some tips:
At the audition, dont be yourself, get into the character as much as possible.
Dont be afraid to do an action that isnt on the script, as long as your character would do it.
DONT be afraid just because its your first time. who ever is judging you will be very kind and nice about first timers.
LEARN!!! the first time your in a play, dont get bummed out if you dont get a part. you learn more in your first year more than anything.
Break a leg!
