The Acura TL is actually based on the V6 Honda Accord EX. It doesn't even fall in the same category as the Civic. As nice as the civic seems, it's still an econocar. The TL is an upgraded V6 Accord. No comparison. The TL will be a better all-around car- as it's price tag would suggest.
Someone mentioned the TL being a better value as a used vehicle. It would appear that way initially until you try to resell it yourself. Give it 2 years and look at how much more the TL depreciates. You can almost sell the Civic for what you paid for it in the same amount of time. Is the Civic overrated? Yes but who cares? It's still a better investment.
I personally like the TLs performance, features, and look, but if you buy one used, expect to have to replace the tranny on pre-2004 TLs. There is a recall on them so Honda/Acura will replace the tranny for you,but it's the same tranny that you already have (with no real changes) so expect it to go out again. Also, being a premium car, Acura recommends premium unleaded fuel for it as well.

It all really depends on your budget. If you have the money to buy an Acura TL, then by all means, get it! Acura TL's have a Honda engine so parts are just as cheap, body work, interior work, and computer issues would be the only thing you would need to worry about since Acura uses luxurious parts. Acura TL has more horsepower also.
On the other hand, I do have a 07 Honda Civic, and for a cheaper price than a Acura TL, you can get the Civic EX or SI fully loaded (including the navigation system). They still run nice, quiet, fast, and have a lot of performance for a little car. The only thing I would complain about my Civic EX would be the smooth shift feature that is offered with the automatic transmission. You really don't know when the transmission shifts unless you listen to the engine which is difficult due to it's quietness. Not a bad car though.
My final verdict, get the TL if you have the money, if not, the Civic EX or SI wouldn't be a bad choice.

Honda Civic and Acura TL shouldn't even be n the same sentence. The Acura TL is safer, has more amenities, and is definitely more powerful. Acura's also have more quality than your average Honda vehicle.
What year are you looking at? If you are looking at used, it actually a lot more economical to buy a TL. I was checking prices on Yahoo Autos and the prices even out after a few years. If you are looking at brand new, the Civic is a lot cheaper, but nowhere near as nice.
Plus, Acuras get much better quality of servicing from the dealers than Hondas would.

Acura and Honda is practically the same for one. I would go with the TL. Its nicer looking, more comfortable, and performs better.I would personally wait until it comes out with the Type S again and get it 6 speed. If your looking for better price then go with Honda. It still has a reliable reputation and its about $10000 cheaper. My moms 87 civic lasted until about 2003 until she crashed it lol but it ran good for 15 years and would've ran for more. Good luck with your decision.

What are you comparing? gasoline performance? high quality of the experience? maximum inexpensive to maintain? directly head to head, average the Acura TL is plenty greater luxury and drives greater helpful unquestionably. whether you experience the cost distinction is worth it rather is yet another component. If comparing each little thing, then the Civic has greater helpful gasoline performance and is greater value-effective average to purchase and safeguard. different than that, the Acura TL beats the Civic unquestionably.

I would most definantly take the Acura TL, they are way faster, and alot nicer with the exterior and interior. They are way more luxurious than a honda civic.

The honda will give you better service in the long run but the acura is a nicer looking car. I am sure that you will figure it out.

I think the Civic is a good car. It's easy on gas and has a high resale value.

Acuras' are better. Much more safer. Umm look a whole lot better too.
