Try this, remove it from the desk, unplug it, take it to the nearest dumpster, and vilently smash it against it. Find 200 dollars, go to your local Best Buy and pick up a wireless Z-Board, odds are it'll come with a wireless mouse as well. Buy rechargable batteries, and a recharger, that's important, and use your current mouse to enable onscreen keyboard through the Control panel and install the Z-Board, and then you're good to go. Like Taco Bell. MMMMM TACOS!!!

This is how I came to Yahoo Answer - one day I must have held the Shift key down too long -- a dialog window came up which I did not understand - and I could not type.

if there is a checkmark in front of sticky keys, click it to remove

Quickly press the LEFT SHIFT button about 10 times to bring up the window and disable handicapped typing.
The windows feature you are talking about is called sticky keys, and people can use it if they cant keep their hands steady enough to press a key, so they have to hold keys down to type.
Just press the left shift button 10-15 times quickly and the window will popup and you can turn it off.

Get a new keyboard - yours is about to take a dump. You can get them at Best Buy for under $20.
