It would take a long time to explain it here, but I've got a link that should help you out.

If you happen to have a double pumper 650 with mechanical secondaries swap it for a new 670 cfm Holley with vacuum secondaries and your problem will disappear.

If you are married to a mechanical secondary 650 it does not belong on an automatic transmission car. The guy who said you need a 50 % fuel air mix is pulling your leg because you'd be changing more gas than oil every 5 minutes. First of all the motor wouldn't fire or run. 13.8 - 14.0% fuel air mix is all you need. There are companies who make very specialized throttle linkages which greatly delay the opening of the secondaries which may help.
I have a Buddie that runs 10 flat @141 with a Dodge A -Stock Automatic. Carburetor---- one Carter with vacuum secondaries.

First make sure no hoses are disconnected or broken. You may have a vacum leak. The throttle stop should keep the throttle slightly open at idle- you should be able to slip a narrow piece of aluminum foil past the throttle blades at idle; if not, turn down on the idle stop screw to keep them from shutting too far. If you can get it to keep running, use a can of starting fluid around the carb and intake manifold to search for vacum leaks.

Idle fuel (idle mixture) screws are usually around 1&1/2 to 2&1/2 turns out. Screw them both all the way in and count the turns. If they're not the same, or if one has vibrated loose, then set them both the same- around two turns for starters.

The bog under acceleration could be a weak accelerator pump- not enough fuel squirting in.

If I were you I'd call around to some local mechanics and find out who races and who is familiar with properly tuning carbs. A lot of well-meaning shade-tree mechanics really screw them up if they don't know what they're doing.
