Yes lotion is fine, I prefer oils....baby oil. olive oil, sex shoppe oil, just so much nicer feeling.

Nope, a lot of guys masturbate with hand lotion. If you're circumcised and don't have much skin movement, it probably feels better with some kind of lubrication, and hand lotion works very well. If you're uncircumcised you don't need lubrication since the foreskin kind of does that for you, though many uncircumcised guys still use something like lotion because it feels better for them.

As long as it feels good for you and you're not allergic or something in the hand lotion, go ahead and use it.

Hand lotion will certainly do the job and won't actually hurt you. However, used over a long period of time the alcohols and other chemicals in hand lotion can desensitize the glans (the penis head). Much better to use oil or a water based lube like Wet, Glide, or good ol' KY.
