Two Full Moon s happening in the same month.

What causes it to happen is a 29.5 day orbital period, which means that rarely a full Moon will happen on the first or second day of the month and another will fall on one of the last days of the same month. Big Whup.

My God! Look at all the outlandish GUESSES!

A "blue moon" refers to the occurrence of the fourth full moon in a season of the year (summer, fall etc). There are many who incorrectly believe that it refers to the second full moon in any calender month but that is not true.

A blue moon is a term used to describe the Moon, usually in the fall, when it reaches a certain point in space and time.

It has to do with closeness, durration from full moon to full moon and time of year.
