Awarding a knighthood to SALMAN RUSHDIE has definitly exasperated muslims.

Assassination calls have been made for both of them.

Do you think its right to award such controversial personalities.

I personally think this can spread violence...what do you say?

I read The Satanic Verses and I do agree that it was intentionally insulting to Islam.

However, my understanding was that Salman Rushdie publicly apologized and was forgiven.

How can you be ignorant enough to make such a comparison? Osama bin Laden is a murderer. Rushdie is a writer. He has written more than just The Satanic Verses, which Muslims don't like because it brings out some truth and casts doubt on Muhammad and islam. Muslims spread violence...Freedom of speech does not and apparently Muslims don't appreciate our freedoms.

God Bless.

Salman Rushdie is a great author. So what if the Muslims were offended. It wasn't an award for being the most popular Muslim. And I would be "instigated" if UBL got a knighthood for his literature.

You must be ready to start waving white flags-- or are you just being PC?

Rushdie is a writer not a murderer and has the guts to point out what the hysterical, violent section of Islam do not like to hear.
Free speech is more important than any religion.

Here we go with this again. oshma bin laden, knew what he was doing. he wanted to kill us american's & for a while got a way with it. By law any person who kills another person, person's are to be punished for what they did one way or another. This wouldnt of lead to be violence if oshma bin laden would of just lefted us alone.

he gets what he deservs.

Instigated is the wrong word to use here. I say you need to work on your vocab.
