if you are looking to place an animal at a no kill shelter- you may also try your local veterinary clinics.

Not only do they have information on the closest no kill shelter... but sometimes they have a list of people who leave their names as foster parents who will help Cats or dogs have a place to stay until they're adopted

or they have a list of people looking to adopt.

so try the above site, or call your local vet clinics

Go to www.petfinder.com and search on your zip code. You'll see all the shelters close to you. Select a rescue group, not an animal control facility.
