Well easiest way would be to sell your body but ahem I do not believe that's what you had in mind. I don't know do what all young entrepreneurs do, do chores in exchange for money from parents, sell lemonade, mow some lawns, and babysit. Those are all the simple ones I know.

Rats are excellent pets not just because they're inexpensive and easy to maintain, but because they provide more interesting play than things like fish or even other small mammals. They eat almost anything except a few no-no's like citrus or anything meat related (which they can eat but you shouldn't feed them for a variety of reasons). Their biology is close enough to humans that they can eat whatever else you're eating. Generally, you buy lab blocks from the pet store, which are dirt cheap and healthy. A bag of lab blocks lasts a couple of months and is usually the best source of proper nutrition (do not make the mistake of feeding them only people food or only wet food). Aside from that the only other expense is bedding. Bedding, actually, can get expensive, but there are lots of ways around this, such as providing sheets instead of bedding, and changing those every other day (actually a lot of more experienced rat owners with larger cages use a litter tray that the rats go poopie in, and then cover everything else in cloth). 50 dollars will probably not be enough to buy a large enough cage, even for one rat. It might be, but it would be cruel to keep in him in something so small for long periods. About 80- 100 bucks will buy you a proper cage, and then the rat is like 10 bucks, and the food is another 10.

You could:
1. Babysit.
2. Mow someones lawn.
3. Clean someones house for them.
4. Help a senior with their errands.
5. Collect cans. ( It pays off)
6. Find work at a Temp agency or Day Labor agency.
7. Clean someones attic,
or anything LEGAL, that would bring in the needed cash!! Be blessed!!

If you have something of value, such as a video game system, that you don't want anymore you could sell it on Ebay or to someone that you know wants it. Make sure it is okay with the parents first.
