personally I would say they go down to my soul because when I hold back from crying I feel a major burden within me and it stays there for a while until I can't hold it in anymore and i cry myself to sleep. when you hold your tears in it makes you feel guilty and ashamed inside and worthless and lonely. so it's best to just let the tears flow, but I have a hard time doing that for some reason. for me to cry, i think it makes me weak, but for others to cry it's perfectly okay and they don't seem weak at all. I just criticize myself way too harshly.
