Agatha Christies' Poirot books also her Miss Marple stories and most of her other mystery books are really good.
Raymond Chandlers' Philip Marlowe books are also really good detective novels.

these aren't all mystery series, but they are still good books.
btw they are also mostly in a Juvenile category but I have enjoyed reading them.
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
Redwall by Brian Jacques
Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo by Obert Skye
Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene (I am pretty sure there are no murder mysteries in the whole series but still are interesting i suppose)
Hardy Boys by Franklin Dixon (I think)(they are relatively the same as Nancy Drew but I haven't really read them.)
the Mistmantle Chronicles by M.I. McAllister
The Little House on The Prairie
