There are legalities to your issue. It doesn't sound right, if you will just let him keep the house. The best thing to do, is probably sell the property & split the money, or he can buy you out. At least, this way, you can have the money to buy another house, or invest for your future. Don't just give up, on what is rightfully yours too!!!
I am sure you've worked hard for the money that you've put down on the house right? Why would you want to just waste it. You guys can be civil about the break up, can't you.

you can sell the house to him you need to talk to a real estate agent. they can help you it happens all the time. if you want your half so to speak then it gets sticky. it is a hard and long process. first i would see if there is anything that you can do to work onthe relationship. you both made a comment to each other, I would try to work it out. Let him know how you feel and tell him that things need to change because if they don't then you are leaving because you can't and won't live like this. be honest don't hide anything becuase if you do it will only turn around and bit you in the the butt

I'm not sure why this is on the marriage and divorce board since you aren't married. This is why I think it's such a bad idea to shack up, even purchase a home, because now you have very little or no legal leg to stand on. Talk to mortgage broker or whatever they are called. Maybe the loan officer.

He could buy you out or re-finance the house in his own name.
In some states you can draw up a contract showing where
you no longer live there and are not responsible for the debt
of his home...Make sure you also include that he is totally
responsible for all the debt. Also contact a lawyer most of the
time their consultation is free. Good Luck

So are you using your boyfriends account because Dave is usually a guy. The only way to legally do this is for him to refinance the house in his name alone. He will incur all the usually like close costs that will have to be paid to do this. My suggestion would be that you take care of these costs if you are the one changing your mind about the relationship. I would talk to him and your finance company to see what other options might be available.

Go to the bank where you got your mortage at and talk to them this is part of your dept now, the house might have to go up for sale, or he can buy out your half.

Talk it over with him. You two might have to refinance the home to get it off your name. You have to sign a letter turning over your share of the home to him. Then you should be free and clear.
Good luck!!!
