Well if you believe that only humans can communicate you might believe this, but it isn't true. To lie is just the act of deceiving. And animals try to deceive all the time. There is the big bluffs to try to get mates. There the primates do it all the time. And other animals try to to deceive other animals to eat them or to prevent them from being eaten. This is again one of those things that humans like to think of them selves as special so they make these things up that aren't true.

But certainly humans are pretty good at it.

Animals definitely communicate with each other. But, sad to say that humans do have the corner market on most bad things.

Since every animal is attuned to the slightest nuance of movement and body language, I would guess that lies would be hard to pass off. He's probably right about us, but at the same time, there's no live animals to ask, so the question remains unanswered.

Sadly, Twain was right. Animals can comunicate on some level, but there is no intent to decieve.

of course animals communicate

there is even proof

and even some knowledge whats is learned and what is innate

maybe humans are the only ones that lie
