I've had 20 ferrets to date, all have been box trained and all have learned quickly. All you need to do is show them what it is that you expect of them. Pay close attention, when you see them about to go potty outside the box quickly lift them up and place them in the box. As you do, give a command such as "potty goes potty box" (or whatever command you choose). Repeat as often as necessary until they've gone in the box. When they do, praise them while pointing to what they've done. You may need to repeat this a number of times before they completely understand but once they do they'll continue to use the box.

As for nip training, again, you just need to show them what it is that you expect. When they bite too hard hold perfectly still (pulling away gives the message that you're playing too), sternly say "Uh-uh! Do easy!" (or whatever command you choose), then release them. Once they realize you won't play if they bite too hard they'll stop.

I have never had luck with litter box training. Mine just prefer to go next to it, or sleep in them. lol

As for nip training, there are correct and incorrect ways to do this. Hitting, yelling flicking the nose do not work and may lead to an agressive and hand shy ferret. All ferrets nip, there is no way to completly stop, but it should be controled. They should know not to bite you too hard, often, ect. Te best way to do it (IMO) is how thier mother would teach them. When your ferret bites let out a loud OUCH! and scruff the ferret by the neck, lightly(and I emphisize lightly) drag the ferret across the group a few inches. This is how thier mother and litter mates would correct behavior that was too rough.

Ferrets will go to the bathroom in the corner. See what corner is likes, then put a corner litter box (made for ferrets) there. Use regular kitty litter, not scoopable as it causes impactions in ferrets). Pine litter is OK too. Keep it really clean every day or he'll just pick another corner. Use bitter apple spray or ointment on your hands to discourage biting. I like www.ferretcentral.org for good info.
