Well a-hey. Here I am, hangin' out by the duckpond, a-waitin' for the phone to ring. I listen for the phone to ring like I've never listened for anything! Maybe it'll be my best gal Chantilly a-callin'!

But it rings, and I rise. It must be her, it must be her, it must be her, or I shall die... but it's not her, so I put the phone back down and my heart back on the shelf. The ducks at the pond are lookin' for a handout. I put a tortilla chip between my lips. Good havin' someone who needs me to look after 'em. "Oh thank you ducks. Give us a kiss." One of 'em takes the tortilla chip. Birdie kissin'.

The bag's almost empty. I got a job workin' nine to five, but I hardly make enough to keep a bird alive.

Then the phone rings again! Oh yes! I answer it. And it's Chantilly!

"What's that little darlin'? You want to know where I am? I'm down by the duckpond!"

"You're sending a friend by? Alrighty, but I'd rather it be you! If I said I didn't love you I'd be a bloody liar."

"Oh Chantilly, you're the only gal for me, you're my gal, my girl, my baby love. My baby loves me yes she does. My baby loves me!"

"Hey Chantilly? There ain't nothin' going on between me and Hayden Panettiere, you know that."

"Just a sec, I think your friend's here... Hey, who's that woman with the gun??"

Who's that woman with the gun?. I listen for the phone to ring just like i've never listened to anything! An Old lady walks by and the woman shouts "I hardly make enough money to keep a bird alive". A duck walks by and embraces it in her arms, The old lady still right there and quite alarmed. "If I said I didn't love you I'd be a bloody liar!" The woman said to the duck. Right now the old lady is next to the woman with the gun admiring the ducks feathers, and another walks by, "Oh thank you ducks! Give us a kiss!"(says the woman with the gun)...."MY baby loves, yes she does. My baby loves me!!!!!!!"

I'm sittting by the lake, I don't know what town this is, or what lake, I just arrived here last night after driving for a very long time............
There are ducks, many of them, and they come right up to me to be fed. They don't know what happened. They don't care. "Oh thank you ducks" I say as I feed them bits of bread. "Give us a kiss" I say as I watch them come up to snatch the litttle crumbs I toss out.
Yesterday my whole life changed. You changed it. Now there's no going back.
I used to be happy and gay, not a care in the world, and then YOU entered my life!!!
I curse the day I met you!!!!
You came along and turned my world upside down, just like that!! Without warning!! You loved me for a while and I was happy. We were happy. The days were filled with our love and our laughter. You NEVER worked and I hardly made enough to keep a bird alive. Neither of had much in material possesions but that didn't matter, we had each other and we had love...........
Then all of that changed. You grew tired of me. You started coming in late, reeking of alcohol and..................something else.....
There were the phone calls. Quickly cut off. Hushed tones. I knew but I didn't want to face it. I tried desperately to ignore what was going on. "My baby loves me, yes, he does. My baby loves me" How often I repeated these words to myself. I hung on for dear life untill I couldn't pretend any longer. Neither could you. I remember the day you left. It was a Tuesday. Although I knew it was over I refused to accept it! I listened for the phone to ring just like I've never listened for anything in my life! The call never came. If I said I didn't love you I'd be a bloody liar. I did.
It made the decision I made later that much harder. I followed you from Ryan's bar that night. You were with HER and the both of you were laughing and kissing. At first I just watched, dying inside, reliving in my mind every moment we spent together. The way you were kissing her you used to kiss me. The way you smiled into her eyes. That was what finally did it.
You didn't see me at first but she did, even in her inibriated state. "Who's that woman with the gun?" she said, bleery eyed, looking over at me. They were her final words. I pulled the trigger, not once but twice. You didn't seem surprised. I watched the both of you fall and it semed to be happening.....in slow motion...... like something in a movie.
I suddenly knew I had to get out of there and fast!!
I ran to my car, got in and just drove. I could feel the tension drain from my body, I felt free. I knew I needed to keep going.......
