... Yahpoo asked for our opinion on the Answers site, via a link on the front page which sometimes appears. For the people who have seen this survey and responded: did you tell them the truth, or were you too polite to hurt their feelings?! ;-)

Seriously though, this was my response in the survey.

"I have had to report abuse of the nastiest sort many times, and still nothing is done about it.

I know Yahoo Answers is a huge community, and staff are stretched. But when I email you regarding serious abuse I've received, I do not want to get the same repeat email telling me to report it through the website. If I write back to explain that this has been done many times, I will eventually get the same stanmdard response, after a 10 day wait. Come on Yahoo, buck up."

Do you agree? What do you think about this site? What would you change about this place, given the opportunity?

I believe I saw the opinion thingy but was not in the mood to answer. I was wrong not to give them my opinion; that is the only way we have a chance for change. But I have an excuse, I was disgusted with the lack of response most of us get from them.

I was given a violation and I honestly wanted to argue the point or at least hear their reasoning. The person I answered had posted so many vulgar comments that I finally answered one. He/she apparently reported me when I questioned his/her sanity. By the time I received my violation, all of his/her questions had been removed (by Yahoo I assume). So this person was soooo bad that Yahoo removed all of his questions but they still accepted a violation by him???? Anyway Yahoo would not answer me, so I just complained to friends and gave up. I had made me paranoid for a while though. What if this insane person decided to report violations on all of my answers to every question? And Yahoo did no investigating and suspended my account? I was job hunting at the time and am on line using my roommate's wireless service so Yahoo was the only email address I had.

What you said to Yahoo is PERFECT. Did you by chance get a response from them? LOL

Told them what I though about their violations!!
Take a look at the replies given by the person with the avatar/id 'Ghost'....then ask Yahoo why he is allowed to stay on this site. He is absolutely disgusting. I got a violation for having the word 'pants' in a joke I listed. Seems there is one rule for some and not for others. Not much fun on this site any more. When a violation is received, the 'reporter's' id should be on it. I have never once had a personal reply when I have complained to yahoo. Know of any other site we could all move to????

Yes there is a lot of abuse on this site & a lot of double standards going on. It is unfair & makes the site second rate, but I'd rather deal with the "bugs" or "kinks" in the system than not have the site at all, because even though there are plenty of nasty people on line, I still believe the more voices of information is out there in the world, the more educated we all get & hopefully the better our world will be. Hang in there, keep trying to do what you feel is the right thing, & eventually the Yahoo staff will hear you & respond fairly. Hopefully? =)

I didn't even know there was a survey. So we are getting a chance to give our own opinions. Gosh that is worth a try. Thanks for informing me.

Yep, I did. I doubt they'll take any notice of your extremely good points there though.
