ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB of GDDR3 memory vs NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 256MB SDRAM

Basically I am considering a MacBook Pro for students vs a refurbished MacBook Pro. The main difference is that the ATI Radeon is $300 cheaper (has 2.33 processor vs a 4.0 on the nvidia and the nvidia comes with a nano.)

Is there a major difference between these cards? Which one is better and is the difference in price worth it.

Nvidia's is way better. An 8 series card is a top of the line graphics card right now.

check to see if the ATI is 256 MB of dedicated memory or is it shared with the computer. I believe the NVIDIA is dedicated. Much better card. Thats the one that I have I believe and I love it. Its worth the extra money.
