My guinea pigs aren't big fans of eating fruit and i was thinking of feeding them orange juice possibly once a week instead of water. Is it alright for them?

Don't give it to them instead of water. It will go bad if not refrigerated. They need fresh water all day. Try bell peppers and tomato slices. Weekly OJ won't benefit them much anyway. They need daily Vitamin C. Add it daily to the water. I use the liquid syrup and add 100mg/16 ounces of water. It loses potency in a few hours, but you're pigs will get enough daily to do fine.

My vet told me just yesterday to add Tang to the water just to give them the necessary vitamin C, but not so they can taste it (very weak). She said it will give the same result as the more expensive drops that can be bought in the pet store, and you can drink it also. Please don't give up on the vitamin C all together. I have a guinea pig with pneumonia right now who didn't like eating the fruit and I didn't force the issue. Good luck!

You can try it. You probably know that vitamin C supplements are essential if guinea pigs are going to stay healthy. You can get vitamin C drops at the pet store.

If you make it yourself i cant see the harm. I would suggest against store bought brands because of additives, however.
