There're four types of the 2 dollar circulation coin; first depicting the young Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse(years 1975-84), second with a more mature Queen's head type 1985-92, third and still in circulation is the type with Bauhinia flower, and the fourth type rarely found in circulation dated 1997 depicts two figures(the Ho Ho Brothers). All of these four types are legal tender coins, including the ones with the Queen's head that have not been struck since 1993 and are slowly being phased out.

Outside Hong Kong, all the 2 dollar coins regardless of design have collector value of about $0.40 to $0.50 in average circulated, and in nice circulated it's about $0.60-$0.80. 1978 is the best date of the 2 dollar coins.

Since you did not give a date, the collector value can't be determined. The July issue of World Coin News arrived today and in the Foreign Exchange section, it takes 7.814 Hong Kong dollars to make one U.S. Dollar.
