yesterday i went into emergency in the hospital b/c i wasnt feeling well and my doctor suggested that i go to the hospital since the labs (for blood test, urine and xray) were closed.. they took some blood work as well as urine... and then when the doctor talked to me.. he told me my HCG level is only 1...
what could a level this low mean? can i stilll be pregnant? has this happened to anyone and they still turned out pregnant? my period was suppose to come today.. yesterday when i took the blood test.. i was at 12 days past ovulation... could i have ovulated later than i was suppose to.. and b/c of that.. it took longer to implant? and still be pregnant?
plz share ur experiences and ideas/suggestions.. thanks ladies..

HCG level of one could be a miscarriage. It should be at least 5 if you are pregnant. HCG levels are high for the first few weeks in a viable pregnancy.
Or its possible that it is so low because you have only just conceived and its too early. Some women find that after having HcG levels of only 1 or 2 they go back and get tested days later and the levels have jumped considerably so that could happen for you.
Maybe you could check your levels again in a week. I will say a prayer for you - there is still a chance for you to be optimistic about a healthy pregnancy.

i'd be cautiously optimistic. when i got pregnant, my hpts were negative but my period was late. i went to the doctor for a blood test and my hcg was a 2. so, similar situation. the nurse said that I wasn't technically pregnant, but they wanted me back in two days because they wanted to know why I was a 2 when you are normally a 0. I went back two days later and was something like a 10. It gradually went up for a week (long week!) and eventually, two weeks after my missed period, it was confirmed that I was indeed not only pregnant, but with twins. apparenlty I ovulated late and also the twin thing messes with your hormones.
so to answer your question, yes, you could be pregnant and have ovulated late. however, you could also be miscarrying... if that is the case, I am truely sorry. be cautiously optimistic.

the likeyhood of being pregnant ur levels need to be at least 20 the first missed day of ur period

go back in a week to have it done again or three days later if your still pregnant it will go up.
