Sonya Hartnett has written some excellent YA novels. Her books are great in that they don't always have the typical "happy ever after" endings that a lot of YA books have. Her stories are strong and realistic, and her characters stay with you a long time after you've finished reading her books. Some of her titles are:
Sleeping Dogs
Surrender
Wilful Blue
What the Birds See
Thursday's Child
The above are all good but my fave is Sleeping Dogs. It's about a family (mother, father, five children) who run a caravan park in rural Australia. An artist comes to stay at their park and finds the family interesting and mysterious, especially the beautiful older daughter. He sets out to discover their secret and does so, to a shocking conclusion. I highly recommend it.
Good luck and happy reading! :-)

I't s shame you have eliminated some of the most enteratining and creative style of books available for young adults. Fantasy and science fiction can help open your mind to new ideas. Try reading some of the juvey fiction by Robert Heinlin written in the 60's. It's amazing how what was "science fiction" is true today. Or Jules Verne.
You might try the Little House on the Prarie series, Hardy Boys, etc. for more mainstream stories.
Best bet...Go to your local library and talk to the librarian. They are usually very glad to help

James Patterson has written several "Angel" novels under the Maximum Ride series. They are specifically written for young adults. They are well written and are great reads for all.

If you don't like any of the things you mentioned above, try reading Gossip Girls series, A-list series, The Clique series, Pretty Little Devils, The Bermudez Triangle, or The It Girls series =) Hope that helps!
