Does anyone know about what kinds of things in the 1st and 2nd Season of Grey's Anatomy differ from what kinds of things a REAL surgical intern would do? Like what kinds of things are exaggerated or under-exaggerated? And what things happen at Seattle Grace (which I know isn't a real hospital, its actually an airport in real life) that wouldn't happen in a real hospital?

Please try to keep it 1st and 2nd season, because I haven't seen the 3rd season and I don't want it spoiled for me ^^.

Let the discussion begin!

As far as the medical plotlines go, it's all pretty factual. Of course every case they use is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so real surgical interns wouldn't get those cases, but the procedures used are real. As for things under-exaggerated...lack of sleep and the gory details of surgery.

I've read that during filming real surgeons are behind the actors and oversee what they're doing. I'm guessing everything is like it is in real life, competitive, long hours... There's no way they would stage something that is not real. If the surgeries are real (well of course not performed on real people) then the rest is real...
Enjoy season 3! It's really good!
