cold sores and fever blisters are type 1 herpes simplex. 80% of sexually active adults have (oral herpes) type 1; this type of herpes can be present anywhere on the body, including the genitals. 60% of sexually active adults have type 2 herpes (genital herpes) which occurs only on the genitals (& transmits only to the genitals) . type 2 will not spread to the mouth. you probably contracted type 1. be careful if you end up having intercourse with your boyfriend as you may contract type 1 in the genital region. you are most contagious when you have a sore, especially if it is oozing or crusty, but you are always contagious. there is no cure, but best to go to the doctor and make sure you don't have a systemic infection. encephalitis or inflammation of the brain is a very serious side effect that could come with herpes.

Cold sores are a form of Herpes they are called Herpes Simplex One and yes you can pass it to a partner through oral sex. You can also contract it from a person with Herpes Simplex Two (genital herpes). Now what you need to know is that if you have cold sores you will probably always have them now. DO NOT have oral sex with anyone when you have active cold sores and you should tell any former sex partners that you have cold sore and that they can contract Herpes from you if you have oral sex with them. As for the babies don't kiss anyone when you have open sores on your mouth especially someones baby. FYI the answerer above me is wrong you cannot cure Herpes One or Two you can only treat the symptoms.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/Curesherpes2015rTMe
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

Cold sores are a form of herpes simplex. Sounds like he just gave you herpes.
"Herpes simplex is commonly referred to as cold sores or fever blisters. It is a viral infection of the skin that may occur once or return again and again.
Herpes simplex is transmitted by sexual contact, kissing, or other close contact. Family members should not share towels or linen with someone who has an outbreak of herpes on the genitals or cold sores. Herpes can spread from person to person even when an "infected individual has no outbreak or symptoms.
