I have been around baseball my whole life and a cycle DOES NOT have to be in any specific order...I had to call my father (the umpire of the family) on this one and he said that you can get a HR single double and triple in any order as long as it is in the same game

Can be in any order, and can have extras of any type of hit.
Here's one example, a game I happened to attend. Montreal's Rondell White had six hits in a 13-inning game in San Francisco. Singled in the second, homered leading off the fourth, doubled in the fifth, doubled again in the seventh, popped out in the ninth, singled in the 11th, and -- ta-dah! -- tripled in the 13th, later scoring the eventual winning run. White had extra innings to his advantage and tossed in a couple of additional hits, but that's a cycle.

No, that is what you call a natrual cycle. This happens when you get a 1b 2b 3b hr in that order.

No, as long as a player gets a single, double, triple, and home run in the same game, it doesn't matter what order.
