This has been driving me nuts. Im trying to remember the name of a toy line I used to own as a kid. It was all based on futuristic tanks. There were little tanks, almost like micro machines but also there were giant tanks as well, like one with swinging arms that was the size of a battleship (relatively) and could plow the little tanks out of the way and could also carry smaller tanks on top using a ramp that raised and lowered. Another one I remember owning could shoot a little hovercraft out if I pressed down on the large turret. Really all I can remember as far as details :(

Sounds like you're describing Mega Force toys. Triax vs. V-Rocs were supposed to be the two sides, each with their own unique vehicles. The swinging arms the you describe sounds like the Ram Fist Triax command vehicle. The thing that shoots a hovercraft sonds lok the V-Rocs Skorpion armored assualt launcher. The whole thing was made up of packs of die cast air and ground vehicles (three to the pack, leader and two followers; packs were battle tanks, rocket launchers, attack helicopters, fighter bombers, VTOL aircraft, and anti-aircraft tanks) that included some kind of plastic structure (bunkers, catapults, hangars, bridges, etc.) as the basic collectables. Then you had the vehicles that included one dicast vehicle. Vehicles came in four sizes, two small vehicles for both sides, two medium vehicles for both sides, two large vehicles for both sides, and then the Triax side had the super sized Goliath mobile battle headquarters.

Had several myself. On the Triax side of things I had a couple XT Enforcer mobile catapults (included a fighter bomber), the Backlash air assault rapid deployer (included a battle tank), and the Ram Fist (included a rocket launcher vehicle. On the V-Rocs side I had the Trident fueler (included a VTOL aircraft, at least one Brimstone tactical missile carrier (included an anti-aircraft tank), the Stratofortress air superiority Bomber (included a fighter bomber), and the Thorhammer mobile launch complex (included a battle tank). Also had numerous fighter bomber packs for both. Used to set up a lovely little war in my living room that took up most of the floor.

Edit: Oh yeah, Mega Force was produced by Kenner. Still have an '89 checklist
