And you've got me wanting you.
Honey, ah sugar sugar

Ah sugar, ah honey honey

When I kissed you, girl, I knew how sweet a kiss could be

Sugar Sugar (1970) was credited to the Archies, after the comic book characters, who also had a cartoon series on at the time.

The lead singer on Sugar Sugar is Ron Dante, who also sang on the Detergents' "Leader of the Laundromat."

The song was sung by a studio group and released under the name "The Archies" back in the 60's The same group of singers also produced several other minor bubble-gum music hits in the same era under different names. Fun time finding them all!

The Archies. But it was actually Ron Dante. He plays all the instruments on it and sings most of the vocals except for the female part, of course. A bit of trivia: Ron Dante produced Barry Manilow's first few albums and he sang on them as well.

Sung by the fake group called "The Archies". They were a bunch of music artists made up by Don Kirchsner, and he used an animated cartoon to not reveal the true musicians.
