Ask him about events and terminology, or names (modern or historic) you might have heard.

Research things about his favorite team and/or player(s) so you can surprise him, either with a factoid he doesn't know, or something obscure that he already did but had no idea you did as well.

Make small wagers -- initially, things you don't mind losing -- to (a) show an interest and (b) give yourself a stake in the ongoings. Washing dishes, making dinner, who gets the remote control... or jump right into the saucier options.

If you are REALLY ignorant of the game, know that pitch counts on the batters are called balls and strikes. Every pitch is either one or the other. If he should suggest you make out while watching a game and that he'll kiss you on the strikes if you kiss him on... well, just know the punchline. It's an old, dumb groaner of a joke, but it's bound to show up sometime.

Go to a few games with him. Real games are more entertaining than TV. If you still don't like it, arrange to go with a group of friends and make it a social event, like Super Bowl parties where half the guests are just watching the ads.

If you like to watch any other sport, someone who knows both sports can show you the common elements. But some people will never like a game that's mostly waiting around for plays that last 1 to 10 seconds.

Some people just don't like baseball. I happen to love baseball. When I first started getting into it, it was boring. I didn't know anything about rules or players. So, I did research. Like, about the different positions, and terms and stats and stuff. I also read a lot of books on the Red Sox (because that's the team I was watching. By the way-Go Sox! Whoo Hoo!), so that somehow made it more interesting.

I went on their website, and read up on the players, and their stats and everything. You should go on your husband's team site to read up on players. You can find it on mlb.com.

Hope I helped!

Hey Crazykitten,

Not sure where you are from, but if you are near a stadium go to a game with him, as you will have more fun going on an outing then sitting home watching tv.

The best way for you to get into the game is to make a wager with him on who will win. If your team wns, he has to give you a massage, or do the dishes for a week. Whatever you guys agree on. Make it fun. Of course the samw ill be true if the team he picks wins. This will give you a team to root for and get you excited in the outcome of the game. I believe you will get hooked quickly. Before you know it, you and your husband will be on a co-ed softball team together.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Jeffrey

Learn about baseball. The more you know about the game itself and what is going on, the more you will like it. If you want to know more just ask him to explain it, he wont mind if you really take an interest.

My spouse began liking baseball as quickly as i began out taking her to video games. I advised her that it grow to be a great thank you to spend time at the same time out of the abode so she went alongside. After some video games, she enjoyed the sport and could watch it on television with me.

You don't have to do anything. They're trying to suggest you try to get into....I'm like why? Find something to do that you like when he watches his sports. Why? Does he make the effort to do what you like to do? If he does (and chances are...no) then fine, but I say....hangout with your girlfriends or something. May he'll realize that sports isn't everything...and maybe should pay more attention to you. If sports come first in his life....well, unless you like coming in second....dump the junk.

try to understand what is going on, and pick a team(easiest would be the same team your husband likes) and root for them and hope that they win. It will catch your interest once you have some sort of connection to it
