YES... if the shooter got the shot off right before the buzzer you can still block it. it would only be goaltending if the ball is on the way down. if the shot comes after the buzzer, it doesn't matter what you do with the ball because the shot doesn't count.

Well, if the ball is out of his hands before the buzzer sounds, and you block it when it goes off, then yeah, you can do that. It will be goal tending if you block the ball when it's coming back down near the basket.

thats a weird scenario. I mean the guy would have to shoot with .1 left on the clock and the block would then be after the buzzer. However you dont see a lot of shots wiht .1 remaining on the clock. Is it leagal to block it after the buzzer? No i dont think it is.

if the shooter released the ball before the buzzer then a blocked shot would count, if released after the buzzer it won't matter wether you block it or not because the basket wouldn't count anyway.

Goaltending is independent of both the shot clock and the game clock. If a ball is blocked on its downward arc (or pinned against the backboard) it is a goaltending violation no matter the time factors.

Think of it this way -- if the basket can be counted (meaning, the shot was taken before the end of regulation), it can be blocked. Or even "goaltended," to make up a word.

Hmm.. good question.
Yes it can...that's what I think..
Buzzard only effects if you still have the ball in your hands
if the ball is taking flight.. and you block it.. then, yes, it is a block

yes you can as long as the ball is still going upward. otherwise it would be goaltending. very odd scenario though it would be tough for it to happen given the time restraints
