what life ?

That there is what I call a loaded question. First of all, I'm a Muslim so there maybe some bias. I will, however, try to answer it the best I can.

Even though the different monotheistic religions have different specifics, they still have one thing in common. The Abrahamic religions, Islam, Christianity, Judaism and several others, follow that we were sent by God to do good works in his name and obey his instructions while on Earth and will in the end be judged accordingly. Depending on our faith and how well we followed His instructions we will go to either Heaven or Hell.

Samsara or the wheel of life theory found in religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, etc., follows that people are born, die and are reborn in a series of reincarnations until such a time as you reach a state of perfect enlightenment at which you are free of the cycle of rebirths which is the followers of these religions seek.

The Nihilistic view on the subject is that there is in fact no real
purpose to our being due to what they see as a lack of reasonable evidence to the contrary, and see no truth to the purpose of life. However, like the different monotheistic religions, different kinds of nihilistic viewpoints such as postmodernism, deconstructionism and others exist with different views on the specifics of the Nihilistic way of rationalising life.

Most other beliefs such as Agnosticism, Atheism, Religous Atheism, etc. are variations on the principles of these overarching themes. This is, however, just what I believe and other people have completely different ideas on the subject so like I said before it's a loaded question.

The purpose of life is for you to discover the purpose of your life.

If you run across the being that created you, by all means ask him (or her) this.

In my opinion the purpose of life is to disregard the term opinion.
It's to not to let the storm pass by but to dance in the rain.
It's not to find yourself but to create yourself.
And that can be a lot easier than it has to be...

In my opinion, the real purpose of life is to do what you love to do and have fun doing it.

Do we need a lifetime just to accomplish one purpose?. I think we might have more than one purpose. And one of my purposes is to answer this question. That's why I am compelled to answer it right now, right here.

To provide for the common good, to live as you see fit, to avoid ego, and to create relationships between eachother. (all kinds of relationships, friendships, family, brotherhood etc.) It's all about doing what you can to better yourself and the world. There is no point in asking questions that will never be answered so just keep your head down and keep moving.

That question is ridiculously absurd, and ludicrously non-sensical...
And I'll tell ya' why...

All "life" is not "one" thing...

Each of us is an individual lifeform, fully contained within ourselves.
YOU get to "choose" what YOUR purpose is...
Or...
YOU can even "choose" not to have a "purpose."
As I wrote in one of my rock songs...

"Life" is what YOU make it...
"Purpose" is how you shape it...
Raw emotions will take you down
If you let them hang around...

And if you insist on having a "purpose..."

Make it a "good" one...

Rock on...!!!

same as the purspose of a flower! you begin as seed, then you will start to slowly grow, sooner or later you will reach the time to bllom and spark the beauty of life, it also the time to give birth to more seeds, after that you just wither and die, mersing with earth, where your seeds will grow on and on (pretty senseless in my opinion!)
