Most of the kids I see, (all boys and some girls) play soccer. I do not know any parents with kids in football. A lot of kids say football, like baseball, is too slow.
I think it might partially be due to the injury rate in football, and the severity of football injuries. Potential liability for school districts, you know?
I am in Illinois, BTW.
Edit: I meant slow to watch.

Some smaller schools are dropping football because soccer doesnt have as much need for players. In soccer you only have 11 players, but for football you need to have a good 25 players as starters. Some schools that dont have enough players for a football team will just play soccer instead.

I hope this report was written by a mad man, football is Americas real sport nobody cares about baseball, they only get people to watch like me cause theres no other sport in the summer...if schools drop football for soccer it better be because somebody died and the insurance ran up through the roof

My reaction is thats BS...Maybe some smaller schools that don't have the fanbase for football are dropping it...Football is the most popular spectator sport in the US...It makes more money than any other sport...including soccer...Schools would be stupid to do that because they would lose athletic revenue...

That is sad....football is awesome and it is the all-American sport! I'm not saying soccer is bad, but it shouldn't take the place of football! BTW, where did you see that report?? It certainly wasn't talking about schools in the south! :)

A soft American school system pandering to the needs of illegal immigrants? Notice how many guys from El Salvador, or Guatemala, or Mexico are in the NFL? Bet you can count on one hand.

i think thats stupid, football is more fun to watch, and soccer only works on your legs and eye cordination, in football your working on overall strength and eye cordination and footwork and speed. football shouldnt be dropped for soccer.
