I really like the name Ryo Dallas for a girl, I think it sounds so cute and pretty. The name Ryo is japanese and I'm not sure if I should pronounce it Rye-O or Ri-O.. which one sounds more feminine or at least nicer?

Ryo is a (Japanese) boy's name meaning 'fact'. Ryoko is the nearest girl's name meaning 'refreshing child'

Ryo looks like it should be pronounced Rye-oh.

To me both Ryo (rye-oh) or Rio (ree-oh) are boys names, and I know a guy called Dallas, so the whole thing is very masculine to me. I find Rio (spelt this way) a much nicer name than Ryo.

If you like Ryo/Rio, could you use a girl's name such as Ryann, Riannon etc and call her Ryo/Rio as a nn?

Sorry I couldn't be more positive :)

Well, in the English language, Ryo pronounced Rye-O, is not so nice sounding. Rio is way better and I'd spell it that way too if you're going with that pronunciation. It'd be less confusing for people seeing the name for the first time. It sounds better as Rio being paired with Dallas anyway. Good luck!

IF you who are naming the child cannot pronounce the name without help, how through the life of your daughter will others react. How about changing her name to Dallas Ryo, thus easier for everyone and still keeping both names.

BTW don't know how to pronounce it either.

Rio pronunciation sounds better... and I guess I'd spell it the way it sounds if that is how you want someone to pronounce it. My first name is ALWAYS said incorrectly and it is SO tiresome to correct people... my name has an "e" on the end so everyone wants to pronounce my name as if there is an "ie". Elle is pronounced "L" NOT Ellie... do you see what I'm saying? Rio is a cute name but do the child a favor and don't use the "y".

I would pronounce it Ri-o just from seeing it. Also Dallas sounds more male than female. I know a few boy named that including my cat.

It's pronounced with a long "I"...{Reye-o} and it is a boys name primarily, not that anyone in the States would know that however.

Dallas has tendency to sound a tad masculine, but it's passable.

As is Dakotah...and maybe Rhyannon.

In the long haul it's up to you...it's pronounced whatever you tell people it is. LOL

Well, first of all if you are going to use a Japanese name then learn to use the Japanese Pronunciation for the name!

I personally don't like the name at all and I also feel that when in America be American!

I don't care for that. If I HAD to name my baby that, I would pronounce it Rye-o when I had to. Mostly, I'd pronounce it "Dallas"
