ever since i went off of it about a week ago my sex drive has been crazy. I finally remember why I went on birth control in the first place. Before being on it i would shoot up at 4am and the only thing that would get me back to sleep would be to have an orgasm. During the day almost every guy started looking good. I could flirt with ease and I really almost had no control over it. Its like now if some guy says he has a gf my brain says off limits but then I go ahead and flirt anyway. Crazy stuff anybody else have this prob?

Haha control yourself sweetie.
Get on the pill. PLEASE.
Save yourself the trouble of having one of those nasty things that cry, piss, and scream...
and you might want to see a doctor or a shrink about your sex drive before it gets totally out of hand...like...an obsession.

Hormones affect everybody differently.

For instance, if you had too few hormones due to polycystic ovary syndrome--PCOS-- (like your estrogen was too low, or your estrogen was OK but your androgens were too high), hormones may make you feel good, or they may skew your hormone levels even more.

Remember that estrogen isn't the only hormone in birth control pills, though--sometimes, it's estrogen and progesterone. The mini-pill has NO estrogen, just progesterone. They all work a little differently.

Personally, when I first started taking the pill for my PCOS, it was high estrogen and I felt grrrreat! High energy, great skin, felt fantastic in every way.

Then, I'd go on the placebos for a week and I'd get horrible estrogen withdrawal and I'd feel absolutely sh!tty. Awful, awful headaches, no energy, horrible period, just bad all around.

Then I'd go back on the pill for 3 weeks and feel fabulous again.

Then back off, and all over again...couldn't stand it. Had to change my formula several times until I started taking the mini-pill because I have migraines with auras and the estrogen increases my risk of stroke.

If it can have an effect on all kinds of things, why not sex drive? If sex drive is partly regulated by hormones (well, not completely, but a big part of it is due to hormones), then why not? Makes sense.

Oh my goodness I cannot read all of that BUT I can say that ANY hormonal change such as for on or off birth control can make your sex drive more intense or weak. I am on the Depo and my sex drive is terrible I really want to switch, but yeah it can cause that and weight gain and pretty much anything lol hormones r crazy.

When I was on birth control, my sex drive did calm a little bit. If your hormones rage this much, then maybe you need to go back on the pill since you will probably be humping every man and getting pregnant! LOL Just try to have some self-control.

You could either go back on birth control or get pregnant and have a crying baby you have to raise...either one will dampen the sex drive.....you can choose which route you want to take.

BC pills killed mine. I took Yasmin and one of the side effects is lower sex drive. Also anti-depressants like Zoloft & Prozac do the same thing.
Keep it under control until then-you can get into a lot of trouble you'll regret!

I'm not aware of this. I suggest you go on it anyway. Nothing kills the sex drive like a squalling baby.
