Ani DiFranco because unlike the prepacked pop stars these days, she's the real deal. She started her own record label at 19 and writes all of her own songs, plays guitar and other instruments and is just real and raw. She's awesome.
I also love Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, Jewel and Amy Winehouse, to name a few.
