Well, what I have done is create a flier including information like what you would like to do like "I babysit, clean, yard work, pet sit" and include information on how to contact you. You would be surprised how many people need just the regular things, but you should be willing to work.

Make up a flyer with everything you are willing to do .
House cleaning ? Yard work ? Tutoring ? Dog walking ? whatever . . .
List it with the $$ you are asking per hour and your phone number .
Walk your neighborhood and give it to all your good neighbors .

Have you considered EBAY? I have often found fantastic deals at garage and estate sales and have been able to re-sell these products on EBAY for a reasonable profit?
