I find it almost unusual for a person with a rational capacity to somehow disbelieve the fact that there is a significant correlation between CO2 in the atm and human consumption/pollution. This is about environmental control and dramatically reducing our large scale exploitation of the natural world we live in.

Even more astrounding than supporting Exxon, people are against using discarded embryos for embryonic stem cell research - which holds much more promises than adult or umblical cord stem cells.

If you oppose one of these two or both please explain why and if you support one, it would be better is mentioned it

Interesting, not a single con wants to defend their position - does that mean that they already had defeatist attitudes of developing a rational argument?

Well, let's see if I can be the first person to actually answer this question. And I'll do you one better. Unlike (most of) those above me, I won't give you an echo-chamber response.

Let's start with the simplest of issues you're discussing here: Stem Cell Research Funding.

I oppose federal funding of Embryonic Stem Cell research for a couple VERY simple reasons:

1.) I do not believe in forcing the tax payers to fund programs they do not believe in, such as Embryonic Stem Cell Research

2.)Embryonic Stem Cells, in spite of all the rhetoric being thrown around, have not cured, nor have the promised to cure any debilitating disease

3.)Many other forms of Stem Cell research exist and are currently receiving federal funding. These have produced cures or are promising cures for at least 75 debilitating diseases. These include:
1. Brain Cancer
2. Retinoblastoma
3. Ovarian Cancer
4. Skin Cancer: Merkel Cell Carinoma
5. Testicular Cancer
6. Tumors abdominal organs lymphoma
7. Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma
8. Hodgkin's Lymphoma
9. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
10. Acute Myelogenous Leukemia
11. Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia
12. Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia

These are merely cancers, and merely a dozen examples where ADULT Stem Cell Research shows promise. There are other major areas where this research shows promise, such as cardiovascular, immunodeficiencies, auto-immune diseases, anemias and other blood conditions, wounds and injuries (like Limb Gangrene), and the list goes on, and on, and on.

What do we have with Embryonic Stem Cell Research? Uncontrolled cell growth. That's right: Tumors/cancer, etc.

5.) In addition to the above, there are a number of ethical questions and concerns associated with Embryonic Stem Cell Research because many believe that one is a human from the time of conception: IE, when the egg is first fertilized by sperm.

Now, onto your next question about "big oil".

I'm curious as to just how much research you've done into this issue (Not a slam... I really AM curious). Do you know how much those "big oil companies" make for every dollar of gasoline they sell here in the United States? Try about $.09

Have you checked how much of your price at the pump goes into federal and state taxes?

Here in Michigan alone, it's about $.60 per gallon. The rest of the price goes into production, pay, maintainence, etc.

That said, as much research as I've done, I have not seen any significant evidence suggesting that humans are responsible for global warming. Rather, all the evidence I have seen (HARD evidence... I prefer to see actual data than listening to scientists merely quote consensus of opinion, and contrary to popular belief, there is still quite a bit of debate as to what kind of impact human activity has on global warming, if any) seems to point to global warming as being a natural, cyclical event having to do more with the sun than with our CO2 levels.

IF someone could demostrate, though hard experimentation and fact-finding that global warming is real, I would definitely be willing to change my mind.

I won't get into the myriad of evidence here, because I simply don't have the time, and this post is long enough already.

SO... I hope this answers all your questions. :)

Neo-cons simply follow their pied-piper talk show hosts. It matters not if it goes fully against their own best interests.

Bigotry is the same in that a person is willing work against their own best interest just for the opportunity to hurt someone else who committed the crime of looking different.

here's your source for the proposition that global warming is just so much hot air and Al Gore's pathetic attempt to become more than a footnote in history.

enjoy. :-)

Money scams!
FDA and Pharma's death toll - Reform or Business as usual?
Categories - Legislation - Pharma
http://www.newmediaexplorer.org/sepp/pharma.htm
The FDA has been in the line of fire for serious violations of its mission. The charge: Standing up for pharmaceutical profits rather than the health of those people who are using medicines.

Under the FDA's rule, pharmaceutical companies have become the most profitable industry on planet earth, but our health is not getting any better - rather the reverse. Every year, national budgets are straining to meet increasing costs of healthcare, much of which goes to expensive but evidently quite useless pharmaceuticals.

The companies that produce patentable medicines have the FDA in their pockets. They control the agency that is supposed to oversee their operations. The tool: user fees, which pay much of the FDA's budget, but which come with strings attached. The money may be used to expedite the approval of new pharmaceutical drugs but not to monitor their safety once they are on the market.

Advertising of pharmaceutical drugs to the public is a peculiar U.S. phenomenon, which allows great expansion of pharmaceutical business by driving demand, but it also leads to waste and to the widespread use of dangerous drugs.

New illnesses are invented, promoted and drugs to treat them are provided - all for the profit of an industry that seems to have thrown decency and morals out the window and set its course on dominating every aspect of our lives. Disease mongering is the term and the practice has been challenged, but is continuing.

According to some researchers, the health system in the U.S. has become the leading cause of injury and death.

In a somewhat ironic turn of events, China, which is being accused of a lack of safety on foods and pharmaceuticals, has condemned its former chief of drug control to death, while entirely similar if not worse violations in the U.S. remain without so much as a reprimand. Stephen Fox, who has campaigned in New Mexico to remove aspartame, a dangerous artificial sweetener, from the market, discusses the situation at the FDA ...

Will Hydrinos Replace Oil As Power Source?
http://www.newmediaexplorer.org/sepp/science.htm

Randall Mills of Blacklight Power has been working for years perfecting a discovery that could change not only the way we make and use energy but also bring a host of new materials. Mills says that hydrogen, the most abundant element, has a hidden store of energy locked up inside it. He has found a way to unlock that store and extract energy from hydrogen atoms by changing the electron's orbit.

With a closer orbit of its electron, the hydrogen atom not only is free to give up some of its energy, but it also acquires new properties and a new name: hydrino.

The discovery is a no-no according to the current physics rule books. So Mills had to work out a new theory of the atom. Some of the opposition Mills is facing from the physics establishment is discussed in this excellent article of Alok Jha, science correspondent of The Guardian.
