Well, you can subscribe to an rss feed by adding the feed to the RSS viewer of your choice. You generally click add RSS feed, then put in the RSS feed hyperlink. You can subscribe to a podcast by adding the podcast to your iTunes. Generally people podcasting give you a link to the podcast site which you then add to the iTunes. iTunes will periodically check for new content on the podcast site and download it accordingly.
