my laptop is a dell lattitude d620. i just had it upgraded it with windows vista ultimate, office 2007, and 1 gb of ram on friday morning and the tech had to update a lot of the dell drivers because even though the computers says it is vista capable a lot of the drivers did not automaticatlly update and/or work with vista. everything was working well when i went to bed, but i awoke this morning and get the above message. and, everytime i hit ctrl, alt, del i get the same message.

Take it back to the Tech and give him a slap

Boot up withe the vista dvd and click on repair vsita or something close to that. Open CMD and in CMD type these lines hitting enter after each one:

expand bootmgr temp
attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
del bootmgr
ren temp bootmgr
attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h

Yes it sounds like this tech screwed up some where. I would go back with a pissed off attitude.

Reinstall it, it is corrupted from the boot sector could even be a faulty hard drive.......
