Looking to relocate there and want to study radiography. Are they all very competitive or is there a program that I have a chance at getting accepted pretty quick?

Jessiesgirl: Dude look, Im not in there by myself doing it, at least one tech is always there explaining things to me, they are just teaching me things because I am going into rad tech school. Just like they do during clinicals. Only I have a unique opportunity to learn ealry because I work there already. Now leave me alone.

You can find schools here: http://arrt.org/index.html?content=http://www.arrt.org/nd/listOfSchools.ndm/listSchools&iframe=yes

By the way, quit doing x-rays before you are properly trained, and whatever you do, don't tell your prospective school that you did that - just tell them that you observed.

Edit: I wasn't attacking you - I was trying to help prevent you from getting into trouble. There are standards of ethics that you must follow to be a registered rad tech.
Sorry I tried to help you.

The Providence Hospital in KCK (83rd & Paraelle) used to have a good program and I assume they still do. The KU has a good one - but you have to commute to Lawrence Kansas occassionally. I have been a tech for many years and went to Providence long time ago. I now work in CA and I have found over the years that hospital based programs versus college based programs produce better techs. Some of the private schools are very costly like we have Pima here. $20,000. St. Luke's is a good hospital as is Research. Providence might be easier to get in because it is on the Kansas side and not located in the immediate city area. It's about 25 miles from downtown KCmo.

Check with the University of Kansas Medical Center... they have a lot of different programs.
If they don't have anything... check with Research Medical Center.

Either one of those should have something -- I asked my brother (hes in med school at KU) and he said he that KU has a great radiography program. Check on there website or google it.

Good Luck!!!
