With all the continued war and destruction there's times I wonder just how intelligent we human beings actually are but that being said and in answer to your question, the universe is teeming with intelligent life and the majority of scientists will tell you this is so. "Drakes equation" is a solidly known and agreed on formula which tells us that there is no less than 10,000 intelligent civilizations just in our universe alone. Actually the word "intelligent" is rather vague as I would apply it to many of the insect and animal species here right on earth who do some amazing things without any shown initial learning as soon as they come to life and immediately perform tasks which make them a valuable part of a greater whole , the fabric of which I believe is clearly woven by a much higher intelligence that shows it's form in everything or ultimately needs no form at all. I believe that highly intelligent life has appeared and disappeared several times on this planet and also throughout the universe since the dawn of time. Occasionally under the right conditions this life gets it right , usually bowing down to something more intelligent than itself allowing it the chance to evolve into a higher realm of purer intelligence, without limitations and far more capable than anything most of us can ever imagine. Certainly hope we get there, it just might not happen this time around.... not from the news I'm seeing each day, I'll see what I can do....how about you ?

All physical matter is intelligent. Every atom possesses intelligence and drive to exist. We have not been visited by space beings because there are none, in the entire universe. Only earth possesses the species of intelligence known as the human race. The rest of the universe is mere after birth.

Looking at that conversely, why haven't we visited them? Because we don't yet have the technology or the capability. Why does everyone assume that if there is other life out there that they are so much more intelligent and advanced than us? For all we know, we could be the most advanced lifeform in the universe.
I strongly believe that there are other life forms out there. In the words of Jodie Foster in the movie Contact, if not, that sure is a lot of wasted space.

There is enough reasonable evidence to suspect that there could be life aside from what we know. But the likely hood of other intelligent life is slim to none.
Our planet, Earth, has all the resources and circumstances for life to exist. There is boundless water and food, a livable environment, a self-sustaining atmosphere, and it located in a perfect distance from the sun making the planet not too hot nor too cold. But these circumstances are so unusual and very rare to happen. So the chances of other life living at such complex levels or even more, like science fiction depicts with sophisticated space craft and other technologies, are not very high.
It might seem with such a boundless universe that there has to be other life, but that is called science fiction for a reason. And even to give alien life the benefit of the doubt, the resources and mechanics to move any two distances in the universe is extraordinary. You would need a and huge and extremely powerful engine with an unimaginable amount of fuel-of any kind- to get anywhere far in the galaxy. It takes man 4 days to get to the moon, and that's not even a light year. To get anywhere far, you would need the help of science fiction, which is literature.
The laws of physics, which apply to anything capable of experiencing them, don't allow logic and the amazing idea of alien life to exisist. In order to seniably believe in alien life, we would have to throw out the very thing that makes it possible- physics and mathematics.

Yes, you are right. The universe is so big. Therefore it's quite possible that there is life somewhere else. Like we living on earth are trying to search life on other planets , they might also be searching for life somewhere else. But unfortunately, nothing has been discovered like this.
So, we can say that there might be other intelligent life forms other than human beings but since they haven't been discovered as yet, humans are supposed to be the most intelligent than the others.

I will say this very bluntly,HELL YEAH,there's such things as UFO's,Aliens, and the like.Anybody who feels otherwise is basically being ignorant in thinking we're the only ones so lucky.Everybody thinks that if you have water, you have life and that TOO is ignorant cause some animals and insects don't NEED water to survive. Also, who's to say that ALL life needs water, oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc to live, that's just plain stupid.I personally have seen a UFO and I have extremely intelligent, non senile,ex-non believers who were there with me when it happened,it was even on the news.Oh yeah people, there's no military base no where near here and it was during the daytime, thus giving us a great view.Even most NASA astronauts will say that they've seen things in space that are not from our planet.People fear what they don't understand or have no knowledge about and won't take the time to understand so they make B.S. up to try to please themselves or other people.Don't believe me? look no further than CNN,MSNBC,and all the other news channels talking about war.So don't EVER EVER say, think,or act like we're the only "intelligent"life forms out there.Cause to do that would be denying ourselves the opportunity to not only learn about other "cultures"but to learn more about ourselves.

Not only possible, but most probable and, what's more, there could be intelligent life 'out there' that is millions of years older than us and, therefore, so far advanced it is beyond our comprehension. It is even possible (feasible), that there could be life out there so ancient and far advanced, that they could be our ancestors, i.e. they could have put us on this planet, especially since it is getting more and more unlikely (due to lack of supporting evidence) that we originated through 'evolution'. I don't know why 'they' would want to put us here, perhaps an experiment? But the fossil evidence of the sudden appearance and disappearance of various species of humans and the real lack of mediation specimens (missing links), seems to point to some sort of intelligent involvement, that can't have been a 'Gog' either, because a 'God' would have done a far 'more perfect' job, I'd have thought???

In my opinion, it's almost ignorant to think that there is no life outside of earth. Though I do agree that we will never come across this life (and reports of ''UFO sightings'' are either made up or mistaken for something else) because the universe is so BIG. But with a universe so infinitely huge, one has to agree that some distant planet in some distant galaxy has similar (ideal) living conditions as earth, and supports intelligent life.

Yes. There MUST be intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not much different than those who once thought the Earth was flat. Those of the pre-Columbus era (Or pre-Leif Errikson era for that matter) thought the "new world" was uninhabitable and that there can be no life. Todays' universe is yesterdays' "new world".

ya of course that I believe in other intelligent forms other than human beings... its reasonable..there are so many planets in this vast universe..we, human beings, we live with oxygen, then why can't there be other intelligent forms living with other gases other than oxygen!!!it depends on their anatomy and their way of living and environment... and also maybe, we are not that advanced to explore further the universe...because we can never conclude with certainty that we are the sole ones in the universe..who knows that on other very far planets, other forms are also guessing the same thing as us and trying to know if their are other lives in the universe than them huh! Who knows...
