You might want to check with your local zoo. Ours has special birthday parties that you can have there. If you pay a bit extra they will even bring some of the educational animals for kids to see and touch. You could also set up a zoo scavenger hunt and send small groups of kids out with an adult. The first group back could get a prize.
They also make wonderful wild animal party supplies... plates, hats, cakes, prizes, etc.
You could also pehraps have the party at a local state park or something... not so much a safari but it is still more in the wild than a house.
