Contractions are in your abdomen under your belly button. In the same place as Braxton Hicks, but a lot stronger. You know you're going into labor when the pain intensifies and you can barely concentrate on anything, even breathing.
The excess discharge is normal. Amniotic fluid is as thin as water.
Nearer the end, you may lose your mucus plug. It may happen when you go to the bathroom. It is thicker than discharge and bloody, about a teaspoon worth. This is just a head's up so you don't panic when you see it. Good luck!

The only way I can explain how contractions feel is that the first one was so hard, and so unexpected that I dropped to my knees. It did sorta feel like a period cramp, only 100 times harder. And the clear stuff could be amniotic fluid. Go see your doctor and ask them to check to see if any is leaking. My water did not break, but it did slowly leak out causing me to get an infection...so mention it at your next appointment, or schedule one soon..... Better safe than Sorry!!

Absolutely not! Contractions are quite painful and radiate from the back to the front of the stomach. You may be experiencing Braxton-Hicks. They are very common and cause some discomfort but usually not truly painful.
Your discharge is probably just normal. I wouldn't worry to much but call your doctor when you get a chance.

No- fluid is clear and watery - you wouldn't notice it because of wiping.
You may just be having braxton hicks - do they go away when you move or switch positions?
Real contractions make your belly real tight and they come at a regular time period. You can time them. They also don't go away when you move around.
At 34 weeks, I would say it is just false labor.
I would not get worried unless they come regular and intensify with pain and are 5 min. apart for awhile.
But again - I would say they are just false.

It's probably nothing. More than likely they're Braxton Hicks contractions. They're practice contractions. When you have real ones, you'll definitely know. Contractions are when your pelvis and hips are dislocating themselves to allow for the baby to fit through, and your stomach muscles pushing him down. As for the clear discharge it's normal. But to be on the safe side call your ob-gyn, and tell them what 's going on. It could be (but hopefully not) your mucus plug, which dislodges itself right before the water breaks.

Since you are pregnant, and most likely not having a period, the cramps where probably the beginning contractions. Especially since you are 34 weeks, getting close! If the pains persist, I would call the doctor asap. You never know, especially if they are getting closer together.

Yeah...but multiply that period cramp pain by a 1000! and that's contractions.......ughh...I'm so glad I don't have to go through that anymore! But you're not quite there yet..too early. Braxton Hicks (false labor) are what your are probably feeling but I would consult your physician.

yeah, that is what my cotractions felt like (when i delivered at 31 weeks) it may just be braxton hicks contractions, but if they keep up, call the dr so if you are in labor they can stop it until the baby is at a healthy size... amniotic fluid is pretty much like water, if you think it is leaking, call your dr just to be safe. good luck and congrats!

For me they are a totally different feeling. Period cramps are a sharp pain. A contraction is a dull ache. I think period cramps are harder to bear.

No. Cramps are like, ouch that was almost unbareable.
Childbirth contractions are more like F*$k! You a$$ hole you are never getting near me again type of pain.
But don't worry, once it is done and you give birth you start to forget.
