,They like power, and to achieve this you have to have a population that is willing to be pushed around. They would love us to be as sheep, following without question.
They can not achieve this now, because a major portion of the country can think for itself, asks questions and does not blindly accept their answers.
This is what is so dangerous about letting them have some pending Congressional Bills be enacted into legislation.
Become educated to this and join the wave to have them defeated.

Because true liberty for the populacy is the antithesis of every politician. It would leave them with no control over anything.
Republicans do it to, I think it is just a lesser extent.

How about no Habeas Corpus? Nope, George again.
Domestic spying? DARN!!!
Attempted Gay Marriage ban? George does a lot.

Well why do the latest (R) people keep giving us speeches on defending freedom and never send their kid's? At least James Webb had the decency to switch party's and his son is a marine. Which is why I am. I have always considered myself a member of the Grand Old Party, but the last seven year's of this I had enough and more than enough.

Didn't you hear? The Republicans are the big-government party now. Imperialism, eavesdropping, abandoning the writ of habias corpus - that's what big government is about. The GOP abandoned their libertarian followers long ago.

Same reasons Republicans who say they want to keep government out of people's lives ram higher taxes, anti-abortion, and Christianity in the church down our thoats - because what they want is more important than what they say they want.

No ones administration has ever swelled the US government to the size that Reagan, and now, Bush Jr has been able to accomplish.
This is also true of the enormous debt they managed to incur.
