If you use the super plus absorbancy most of the time, does anyone know what is considered the normal number of tampons to use? I was wondering if my period would be considered heavier than average or just average. Last time, I used 40 tampons. I soaked 18 on my heaviest day.

It depends how long the period is and how your periods are

Your period can come on at any time day or night and if you are regular at 28 days per cycle it's due right about now. The full moon is tonight which makes the whole process more intense. Because you're young and new to all this you may not be regular right away but if you are regular this time you are right on schedule. As to using tampons I would hesitate to do that right away as you are probably a little small for them to easily fit and be comfortable just yet. When I was just new I used pads when I felt it coming. This takes care of the wetness thing. It is an exciting time and a first step in becoming a woman. I know it's kind of new and different but very cool. Take your time with all the new changes that your body presents to you. There is plenty of time for tampons. Talking to your mom about tampons is a good idea if you feel she will receive your questions in a open loving way. Otherwise I would wait and use pads and just get used to the whole new process. Then talk to her when you are both a little more used to the whole thing

I would say it would depend on the person, I was told if you go through more than 1 an hour you should see a Dr. 18 in one day sounds like a lot, since some of that time you are sleeping and not changing them.

On average, women lose 1/4 cup of menstrual fluid per cycle (although it often seems like more!). Everyone is different, but eighteen tampons in one day sounds like an excessive flow. You should see a gynecologist.

My gosh girlie. Go on birth control to lighten your periods up! I use a lot of tampons (like 20 per period) but not that many.

I don't think that is normal. Sounds like you have really heavy periods. Talk to your doc sometime.

that i don't know but they need to be changed within 4-6 hours REGARDLESS WHETHER THEY "NEED" TO BE OR NOT since it's dark and moist there so no bacteria grows and toxic shock syndrome happens. TSS CAUSES DEATH. and they shouldn't be worn overnight if you can help it.
