The US has close ties with ANY country that is a) a true democracy and b) has a (relatively) strong economy.
It is not specifically Israel. (They also have close ties with my country, Canada, but that issue seems to be never questioned.)
In any case, other reasons why is because Israel is located in the Middle East as the only democracy in the region and thus is in the US interests for that reason alone.
For many years, the Soviet Union supported various regimes in the area, Israel was a counter balance for that.
Also, in many cases, the two countries share similar values and in recent years, share the same issues regarding the "war on terrorism".

Although I don't agree with all the wars Israel have done to defend it self, I agree that they must use every way to survive.America need Israel as much Israel need America. Israel have no oil but have many sharp brains.The United States haven't been always so close to the Jewish people since ever.

Amazingly, only a banana republic dictator,Trujillo from the Dominican Republic, accepted Jewish refugee boat.They receive free lands to settled with money to help them.Until today there is still a small minority of Ashkenazim Jews in this tiny country(Dominican Republic), but many immigrate later to the United States.

It's an unholy alliance between an imperialist state and it's client state. The US backs up Israeli apartheid and in exchange Israel enforces US strategic and oil interests in the region.
The huge pro-Israel lobby in the USA makes sure that the massive military aid to Israel keeps pouring in. If only that aid were sent instead to Palestinian refugees instead of their oppressors. The prospects for peace would be so much brighter.

The Military Industrial Complex. Israel created propaganda in the 1970's to make all Muslims terrorists. Plus the Jewish owned media has brainwashed people that you can't even mention Jew or criticize Israel without being call anti-semetic.
Israel uses the US to fight their battles. All those fake Christian mega churches in the US, who are normally at odds with the Jews, are heavily invested in the US occupation and the Military Industrial Complex.
It just makes good business sense to have Israel as an ally because it just creates more money for the the corporations and Israel gets "protection" from surrounding nations and gets to expand its illegal occupation.
For those of you that think this is about religion, you are naive to believe that religion is a stronger reason for war than money.

because Israel is one of the only friendly democracies we have in the middle east. It's a peaceful area constantly threatened by arabs and their muslim theology every day.
