As of two days ago, the air conditioner quit working. No sound, no fan, nothing. I reset the breaker on the electrical panel and it did no good. Then I found two additional breakers on the furnace fan. Circuit A and Circuit B. A was off and B was on. I turned both off reset the breaker on the electrical panel and then turned both back on on the furnace. It sounded like it was going to start but didnt until I turned the circuit A breaker off, reset Circuit B and it worked fine for about 6 or 7 hours. Then started again. Now you can not reset, it still sounds like its trying to start, but wont

Any ideas on what the problem could be? Breaker? Fan Motor? ???? HELP !!!

The breaker opened because the unit needs to be serviced by a qualified technician. Do not reset the breaker, turn them all off and call a qualified service company Monday morning and schedule an inspection. Breakers open to prevent dangerous situations from occurring. Increasing the capacity of the breaker without increasing the capacity of the wiring may lead to a fire.
It could be a simple fix, or it could indicate that there is a short-circuit within the unit that only occurs during specific sequences of events.
Without proper tools and training, this is not a DIY project. Call a pro.

Call a good heating and air company they should be able to replace the breaker if that is the problem. chances are you have multiple problems one being the compressor either direct short or it is locked up. also sounds like your breaker or breakers are bad. You could call out an electrician but if you have a 2 part problem might be easier just have hvac tech out save some money, ask when you call for the service if they find it's the breaker can they replace it for you save yourself that head ache as well.

Sounds like the a/c is drawing more current because of a overload on the compresser maybe a weak breaker you could change that but if it keeps doing it than call a a/c guy out

Do you have the right amp breaker? I had trouble like this with my aerobic septic system and I called an electrician ($85 for a 5 min job)who just put in a 30 amp instead of a 20 and I haven't had any problems since.

How old is your AC unit? How many BTUs? How many amps your breaker? these are all questions that need answers to see if whole system is balanced. If it has been working in the past, I would tend to think that your AC unit needs servicing. It sounds like your compressor motor is pulling to much of a load.
