Blame the Los Angelos Police for botching the investigation from the go and then the Prosecutor for being such an idiot. If your key witness is a racist be open about it. If all the things said about Ferman (Fuhererman) were true then what a Prosecutor would do is to get him to say "I don't hate OJ any more than any other N - - - ," on the witness stand and make it clear that racism did not affect his judgement.

Actually it was more about making Ferman out to be a liar. The Defense got him to lie about making a racial slur and thus made it appear to the jury that Ferman could not be believed regarding his claims of discovering evidence.

Had Ferman openly and honestly admitted to the racial slur, it might have made the jury more open to believing him regarding the evidence that he said he found. The combination of lying and being a potential racist made the jury conclude that Ferman was not credible.

Of course it helps when your jury is composed of complete dolts.
