A gig is more than a meg. A megabyte is 1,000,000 bytes. A gigabyte is 1000 x 1 meg.

1000 metres=1 kilometre
1000 meg=1 gig

bit = 1 or 0
byte = 8 bits
kilo byte(Kb) = 1024 bytes
megabyte(Mb) = 1024 Kb
gigabyte (Gb) = 1024 Mb

so a gigabyte is much bigger than a megabyte

If you remember your metric progression (powers) then
unit, deci, centi, kilo, mega, giga, terra
I think the next one is ferma but that might be on the decreasing side so double check before using.

a gig. a gigabyte(bit) is 1000mb. or if u talk about memory a gig is 1024mb.
