I am pregnant and suddenly my doctor tells me that my size indicates that I am three weeks further along than we thought. I am supposed to be 34 weeks but this would put me at 37 which I didn't think was possible knowing my cycle. Is it possible that I am carrying twins and the second one just hasn't shown up on ultrasounds? Has this happened to anyone? Or, am I just worrying for nothing?

Not in this day and age. With ultasound and the dopple along with blood tests, you can't just be pregnant with twins without knowing it.

Chances are your baby is just growing larger than expected, that's all. If you don't think it's possible, then speak up and talk with your doctor.

Right now, if you were pregnant with twins, you WOULDN'T be showing JUST 3 weeks larger. MOST (99.9%) of the doctors will be able to pick out twins out of a doppler or an ultasound after 20 weeks.

I suppose anything is possible, but it is more likely that your baby is just big for his gestational age, or that you grew a little quicker recently. Every baby is a different size and every woman is a different size - and we all grow differently. Your baby will never be the "right" size for his age, as there is no right size for an infant at any certain age.

Your only worry should be that you MIGHT be going into labor a little faster than you thought you would be - your baby may be ready NOW! He'll let you know!

it fairly is unquestionably possible to be pregnant with twins and not be attentive to at an 8 8 week US. the different infant might desire to be smaller and hiding in the back of the bigger one. some human beings do not locate out for a whilst that they are having twins. additionally, with your 2nd being pregnant (in maximum situations) you have a tendency to commence exhibiting faster. So, it would desire to be because of the fact of your previous being pregnant which you seem farther alongside than you're. stable success and congrats!

its possible but unlikely in this day and age, you would probably be a lot larger too with twins. most people who i know with twins (its a lot trust me) look full term at about 6 months or so. the measurement of the fundus is just a guide and can easily be 3 cm either side of your expected size without cause for concern!

No babies cant hide from the ultrasound. Thats just silly. Measuring further along isnt a bad thing. Dont worry.

No, they would have seen the second baby on the ultrasound.

Also, in the beginning your hCG levels would have been a lot higher than a woman with one baby.

Good luck!

It is possible, because it has happened... but then again, you might just have a really big baby, or they timed your due date wrong.... have another sono and more than likely you have nothing to worry about...
if, at delivery, you end up with twins, then you have twice the fun!!!
