Please help! I need character/costume ideas for a "good vs. evil" themed party.?

My hubby and I don't necessarily have to coordinate with each other, but it would be cool if we had a duo idea. I am looking for originality. Already passed up superheroes (too common) and other generic ideas. Any input will be very helpful, thanks!
